CALL FOR PROPOSALS

IRSA Research Support for Driving Regional Transformation in Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Forestry

Background

Indonesia needs a regional transformation in agriculture, aquaculture, and forestry to support sustainable growth, food security, and inclusive development. These sectors underpin rural and coastal livelihoods but face low productivity, climate risks, and regional inequality. Effective transformation requires synergising innovation, improving physical, digital, and market connectivity, and strengthening social inclusion so that smallholders, fishers, indigenous communities, women, and youth can benefit. Yet existing policies remain fragmented and sector-specific, limiting impact. Research on how best to design and implement such integrated, place-based transformation is still limited, leaving policymakers without clear guidance on effective strategies.

Research Support

The IRSA Research Support for Driving Regional Transformation in Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Forestry provides small research grants of up to Rp 25,000,000 to support high-quality research projects, including theoretical, empirical, and case-study-based work. These projects aim to generate new insights into effective regional transformation in agriculture, aquaculture, and forestry, contributing to sustainable growth, food security, and inclusive development.
